For some thirty years, Nathalie Talec has mined a rich vein, the themes of the cold – from polar expeditions to mountaineers’ escalades – and survival in extreme environments, which she reappropriates and sets out in a style that is playful, protean, and steeped in autofiction. For our show Première étoile, dernier flocon, the artist created in particular a new piece, a wall of 100 aluminum hiking flasks with her image as an explorer.
