360 microsillon
Sébastien Cabour and Pauline Delwaulle
Issuing this album is the outcome of work based on the omnipresence of Mont Blanc and the creation of a parallel between the viewpoint indicator and the vinyl LP. Readings of toponyms and sound recordings done in the mountains are brought together via a play of form based on the correspondence between the 360° panorama and the phonograph record as object.
A “North Face” offers a mix of toponyms, a sound poetry that puts a viewpoint indicator in rotation on the vinyl disc. The album’s “South Face” takes its microphone from one viewpoint indicator to the next, completing rounding Mont Blanc and in the process fashioning a documentary panorama of a tourism that is tuned to the eye.
